Arrange the avocado, tomato and cheese on the tortillas. Traffic light fruit Choose your green red and yellow fruit. Arrange on toothpicks. For a special treat serve with melted chocolate for dipping (it's also a good way to use up those left over chocolate Easter bunnies.) Sometimes it's ok to play with your food! Bon appetit!

Life Sized Board Game

Image
My little one saw this on TV this morning and wouldn't let it go until we made our own version. This is a great game to play inside on a rainy day or outside on the grass in the sun! Cost: Use what you have in your craft corner. Material: Construction paper Markers and crayons Stickers Spinner (from any other game) Directions: Choose 16 pieces of construction paper in different colours. Write START one one piece and number the others from 1-15. Decorate the sheets with stickers and crayons. Cut a piece of construction paper to fit the spinner and divide into 6 sections. Number the sections 1, -1, 2, -2, 3 and -3. To Play: Place all the numbered papers on the ground in numerical order. You can play around with the positioning of the papers to change the game each time. Take turns spinning and moving forward or backwards. First one to get to 15 wins!  Have fun!

Homemade Easter (or any time) Presents

This is an idea to give a little homemade touch with your Easter chocolates this year. These bookmarks (or bookmarkers as my little one calls them) are fun to make and easy to customise. Cost: $6.00 for 10 bookmarks (you can find a package of 10 bookmarks already cut to size with a ribbon for $3.00 at most craft stores and another $3.00 for stickers to decorate.) Material: Bookmarks (if you do not have the already made ones you will need foam sheets a hole punch and ribbon.) Stickers to decorate Markers to decorate Directions: If you do not have the already made ones cut pieces of foam to the same size, use a hole punch to make a hole at the top, thread a ribbon through and tie. Write the names or initials of each person on their bookmarks. Have your child write the letters if they are learning to write or use foam letter stickers. Decorate with stickers. Happy crafting!

Easter Egg Tree and Decorations

Image
Our Easter decorations We have been busy decorating and getting into the Spring spirit, thi is our Easter Egg tree.  Our eggs some real some plastic Easter Eggs: The Easter eggs are mostly decorated with stickers this year because what is easier and more mess free than stickers. I thought about having my little one paint some but then I dyed the first batch and ended up with a blue hand so maybe we'll try next year. Egg dyeing To make designs or write names on the eggs draw on the egg with white crayon before dying. To dye eggs you can either buy a kit or add some drops of food colouring to 1 cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Cars egg dyeing kit Dye the eggs, let dry and decorate either add a ribbon to hang from the tree or place in stands. Easter Egg Tree: The tree Depending on your vase you might have to put dry floral foam at the bottom to hold the branches in place and if you're using a clear vase fill it
