Our rocks grew, or they were replaced by lettuce and tomatoes!  Our basil, parsley and mint are taking over. It is so nice to have fresh herbs and veggies within a few steps of the kitchen! Mango Salsa Salad with Chicken   So, now I have a pot full of fresh herbs to use up! Mangoes and avocados were on sale this week so I put it all together and came up with this salad that tastes like mango salsa in an edible tortilla bowl, it was a hit! Getting Organized!

Image
It was time, beyond time, to organise my craft supplies. My mom gave me this portable workstation and that was good motivation! It's probably meant for paper and projects with flatter material but I made it all fit, all but the foam sheets, there was no way! I have a whole pocket of felt and foam stickers and a pocket of regular stickers. A pocket of pictures we've made and one for little craft kits from the dollar store. It is my one stop creation centre! It's a little over stuffed but doesn't weigh a thing and there's a shoulder strap and a handle, so I can take my crafting to go!

Free Summer Activities

Image
So many possibilities! Summer is in full swing, vacations and activities are being planned but keep in mind that you don't have to spend the outrageous price of admission to an amusement park to have a good summer day! Check out what's going on for free in your town and take advantage. Outdoor pools: That was a summer must when I was growing up. We were members of a neighbourhood pool. Where I live now all outdoor public pools are free with your city card or a whopping $2.00 without it. The perfect way to spend a hot day Splash pad: Bring a picnic, pack up the family and spend the day enjoying the park and cooling off in the water games. Activities in the park: Some cities offer camp councillors in the parks who organise activities for children. Our parks have separate councillors for ages 3-5 and  6-12. They are at selected parks for an hour at a time organising activities such as face painting, building sand castles and colouring for the little kids and
