Tried and Tested Pizza Recipe for Kids

Image
In the July/August issue of  Rachael Ray's Every Day Magazine there is a recipe Upside-Down Pizza Party. It's fun pizza recipe to make with kids. This turned out to be the pizza for the boy who hates pizza. I know it's not a normal complaint from a parent but my son hates pizza. After helping me make the pizza, he ate it up! This is my take on the recipe. Ingredients: Pizza dough (bread machine recipe below) Frozen vegetables (brocoli,  cauliflower and carrots) Pizza sauce Shredded cheese Directions: Preheat over to 450 Place rack in the bottom third of the oven Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush with olive oil Have your kids place the veggies on the baking sheet. Drizzle the pizza sauce over the veggies Roll out the pizza dough Help your children place the dough on the baking sheet, on top of the veggies press down lightly Season the pizza dough with salt and pepper Bake for 15-20 minutes until crust is golden Flip the pizz

Father's Day!

Image
At his favourite fishing spot My Dad's two passions are fishing and writing. He encourages us to write and taught us how to fish. I now share his love of writing but not so much his love of fishing (too many oopses). This is a piece he wrote for my Grandmother, it was published on the MUHC's website  tree of life . You are my writing inspiration! Happy Father's Day!

Winnie-the-Pooh's Picnic Cookbook

Image
Winnie-the-Pooh's picnic cookbook is my one stop picnic planning book. The book is divided into 6 themed picnics, the Expotition picnic, the Tea Party picnic, the Birthday picnic, the Rainy Day picnic, the Kids picnic and the Beach picnic. The classic Pooh illustrations and quotes from the books makes this a fun recipe book to flip through for kids as well. At the end of each menu there is a suggestion of extra supplies to bring to make the picnic special. My goal for the summer is to make all of the picnic menus. I usually think of picnics for lunch but some of the menus have quite a bit of food which would be good for a supper picnic and all the menus are for 6 servings so I'll have to have to invite some friends!
