DIY Lego Birthday Party Games

When I started this blog little man was 3, he's not so little anymore , he just turned 11! For his birthday this year he went to see a movie with some friends. He wasn't going going have a party at home but the day before his birthday he asked if I could make him some Lego games that he and his best friend could play outside on his birthday. It took me some time but I'm so happy that he still asks for homemade party games, it might be one of the last years he does. Also, I'm not going to share my attempt at a Lego Man cake cause that was funny, little man said "you could win nailed it with this." So that will give you an idea of what it looked like!

Lego Party Games:

Lego tower ring toss

What you need:

  • Spare Lego bricks
  • Large Lego baseplate
  • 8 Pipecleaner in 2 different colours (for 2 players)

What to do :

  1. Using the Lego bricks make towers of varying widths and sizes.
  2. Place the towers on the baseplate.
  3. Bend the pipecleaner into circles big enough to fit over the widest of the Lego towers.
  4. Mark a line on the floor in front of the ring toss, about 4 feet back.
  5. Give each player the 4 rings in the colour of their choosing. Have the players stand behind the line and toss their rings, trying to loop around as many towers as possible. The player with their rings around the most towers wins.

Mini figure knock over

What you need:

  • Lego mini figures (you can choose 'bad guys' to defeat for this game)
  • Nerf gun and bullets

What to do:

  1. Stand the minifigures up on a box or a table. I used a Lego storage box on top of a glass-topped outdoor table.
  2. Mark lines, 3 feet, 4 feet and 5 feet from the minifigure targets.
  3. Give each players 4 Nerf gun bullets. One at a time, have each player try to shoot down as many minifigure targets as they can with their 4 bullets at the 3 foot line. Repeat at the 4 foot and 5 foot line. The player who knocks down the most minifigures wins.

Pin the head on the Lego man:

What you need:

  • Green, red, blue and yellow construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Black Marker
  • Tape
What to do:
  1. Use the green cardboard as a background. I used 2 peices which I glued together.
  2. On the blue cardboard draw and cut out a pair of Lego legs.
  3. Using the red cardboard draw and cut out a Lego shirt.
  4. Using the yellow cardboard, make a pair of Lego hands and 6 Lego heads.
  5. Decorate the 6 Lego heads with different expressions or characters. I did classic Lego guy, scared expression, pirate guy, annoyed expressio, surprised face and sunglasses guy.
I made these games at the last minute but I am still happy with how they turned out and best of all Little Man was very happy with them.

Happy Crafting!
