Fairy Garden Birthday Activity
This is a craft from our latest birthday party. Little Misses 5th birthday is this month and she asked for a 'very' (fairy) birthday party. We hoped for good weather and planned to have it outside. The craft that I knew I wanted to do with the kids was making a fairy garden.
I bought metal flower pots, artificial flowers, flower foam and animal clips. I bought everything but the fairies at the Dollarstore, I might have gone a little overboard. I also gave the kids butterfly stickers and butterfly magnets to decorate the flower pots.
What you need:
- Metal flower pots, one large and one smaller one for each guest
- Artificial flowers and greenery
- Dried moss
- Mini pin wheels
- Flower foam
- Clip-on birds, frogs or insects
- Garden fairies, one for each guest
- Hot glue
What to do:
- Cut the foam to fit in each of the smaller metal pots.
- Glue the moss on the flower foam, Pat down to cover the foam.
- Unpack and separate all the flowers and greenery. Arrange the flowers and greenery in the large metal pot, largest to smallest. Display the fairies and the clip-on accessories in the front.
- Arrange the stickers and magnets on the table or on the pots.
- Give each party guest a flower pot and a fairy. Place the large pot in the middle of the table. Have everyone go through the flowers to create their own magical fairy garden.
I really like the way this craft also looks like a center peice. The kids had a great time creating them and all of their gardens looked so different
Happy Birthday and Happy crafting!
