Advent Calendars 2025

 For my birthday this year I was gifted two very special advent calendars. It's no surprise that I love advent calendars, I share them on my little blog every year. I love the tradition and the ritual of taking time every night to stop and spend some family together time. Counting down to Christmas helps us slow down and appreciate the little moments that make up the season, like opening our calendars all together in the evenings, with the fire burning or opening them on weekend mornings sipping on coffee. This year I have 2 new calendars to enjoy and add to my Christmas decor for years to come. 

My hubby gifted me the brand new Gilmore Girls Light-up advent calendar. I've tried to avoid spoilers but one thing I did see was how to turn on the lights. If this is helpful at all for you, the battery tab that you have to pull to use the lights is behind box #7. I love the look and coziness of it, I can't wait to see what's in it! 

This beautiful tree was gifted to me from my amazing friend. Last year she gave me a booklover's advent calendar which was in the shape of a book. She finds the coolest advent calendars. This tree comes with ornaments that you open and add to the tree everyday. I can't wait to see what it looks like with all the ornaments on it. 

This year I have decided to do Blogmas again. Sharing a post every day leading up to Christmas. I am going to share my advent calendar surprises.

Parents with young kids might know Tasty Time with Ze Fronk on Disney Junior. My little one, I've said before, sees something on TV and wants to make it asap. Luckily all the recipes are healthy and easy to make without being too plain. You can download the a Ze Fronk cookbook for your kids at  Disney Junior . For lunch we made ze tasty turkey rolls and ze tomato surprise Ze Tomato Surprise Ingredients: Cherry tomatoes Cottage cheese Sprinkles to decorate (or use chopped up basil to decorate) Directions: Cut the tomatoes in half and scoop out the inside Fill tomatoes with cottage cheese Top with sprinkles or basil Ze Tasty Turkey Rolls Ingredients: 2 large tortillas 4 slices of turkey lettuce 2 slices tomato Caesar or ranch dressing Directions: Place tortilla on a plate and spread with dressing Top with remaining ingredients Roll up and cut in half

DIY Minecraft Nerf Gun Target

We have been having fun with nerf guns in the backyard this summer. To change it up  from Nerf Gun battles we decided to make some targets to practice on. Materials: Cardboard box Paint pens  Duct tape  Measure the targets, one big circle in the middle, four smaller circles around the middle target. Cut out the circles, measure about a 1/2" from the edge and cut the contour of the small circles. Measure 1" on the center circle and cut the contour. Draw a character on each target. We chose a creeper for the middle target and pigs for the smaller targets. Place the target in their perspective circles, measure twine to hang each target in place. Duct tape the twine to the target and the targets to the support. Tape all the shapes to their respective openings. Add point value for each shape.  It's  time for target practice! Happy crafting!

Pom-pom Yoga Games

There are so many great yoga game ideas for kids out there, this is one that I found that is good for all age groups. The original idea was picking up the pom-poms with your toes only but I found that you can make many variations as you go. Ask the kids for ideas as you're playing as well it's fun to see what they will think of. Toe-ga Empty a bag of pom-poms on the floor. Sit in a circle around the pom-poms. Each player sits back, hands on the floor, knees bent. Place an empty bowl near each player's feet. 123 go, using only their toes each player has to put as many pom-poms in their bowl as they can. Yoga pose pom-pom pick up Empty a bag of pom-poms on the floor. Standing or sitting in a circle choose a yoga pose that everyone can do. While in the pose each player has to place as many pom-poms in their bowls as they can.  Some poses to try: Downward dog, use your hands to pick up the pom-poms.  Tree pose use your toes to pick up the pom-poms.
