Football Stadium Tray

My football stadium serving tray  I shared part of this post in one of my Blogmas posts, since Super Bowl is coming up this weekend, I thought I'd share it again and link up some of the other Super Bowl posts, crafts and food I shared over the years. Last year I made a football shaped stadium out of cardboard to serve hubby's birthday supper and used it again for our Super Bowl super. This year I asked a friend, who is great at wood-working if she would help me make a more durable version of my cardboard football stadium. I designed the football stadium fairly large to accommodate big parties but it works out well for our Sunday suppers as well. Now my obsession is filling the stadium with different food to look like a football field and players. I sketched out a quick picture of what I wanted my stadium to look like and my talented friend built this for me.  To decorate it I painted the outside of the tray green with silver lines for the yards. Olympics and Football and Valentine's oh my!

My house is very eccentrically decorated right now, I love putting up little decorations for any occasion and within the next 2 weeks we have the Olympics, Valentine's Day and the Super Bowl (Oh my!) Lots of things to look forward to and to decorate for, because that's what I do. On display in various parts of the house I have an Olympic rings poster (that we made for a family Olympics we had last year during quarantine) Valentine's hearts and flowers and a football serving platter with cutout football players.  I wanted to share one of the projects we made for our Family Olympics. It could be fun to make these chocolate Olympic Medals for a themed dessert.  I used chocolate whose wrappers most closely matched the colors of the medals. I wanted the mini Reese peanut butter cups because they are more of a bronze colour but the bigger peanut butter cups worked well and they were actually the one that everyone wanted at the end of the day.
