DIY Planner Set-up

let's talk about one if my favorite hobbies, planners! Last year I ended up with too many planners all on the way to finding the one that I like the best and works best for me. I decided to go back to a classic size happy planner. As I am looking back on these photos, I just want to say, I was using my journal by the pool, under a red umbrella, which gave all these pictures a red tinge. This was the second time I took these pictures, the first time they turned out too dark, so red it is!
I have stuck with my one planner for the year, one of the reasons that I really like the Happy Planner is the fact that I can add pages and customize my planner how I want. I am so happy with my set up, I have trackers and my reading journals and my daily planning all in one place. The one thing is, it's so bulky, I can't bring it anywhere so I decided to make a smaller planner, notebook that I can bring with me, to work or on vacation.
One thing that I really wanted, was to find everything I needed in my supplies to make a small notebook to bring with me to compliment my Happy Planner. I wanted to be able to make lists or take notes and add it to my Happy Planner. 
I used Happy Planner discs and cover from an old mini happy planner to start my notebook. I looked through my Happy Planner supplies for note paper. I decided to use some folded note paper, since it is folded it is only the width of a half a peice of paper and I don't each for it very iften, I don't have a lot of use for it in my planner so this way I am able to use it up. I cut the length to fit in my little notebook. I also happened to have a notebook cover that I was not using, I added some stickers, a pen and I am all set to plan on thego! I have a brand new notebook set up to bring with me and I didn't have to spend any money!

For lunch we made ze tasty turkey rolls and ze tomato surprise Ze Tomato Surprise Ingredients: Cherry tomatoes Cottage cheese Sprinkles to decorate (or use chopped up basil to decorate) Directions: Cut the tomatoes in half and scoop out the inside Fill tomatoes with cottage cheese Top with sprinkles or basil Ze Tasty Turkey Rolls Ingredients: 2 large tortillas 4 slices of turkey lettuce 2 slices tomato Caesar or ranch dressing Directions: Place tortilla on a plate and spread with dressing Top with remaining ingredients Roll up and cut in half

DIY Minecraft Nerf Gun Target

We have been having fun with nerf guns in the backyard this summer. To change it up  from Nerf Gun battles we decided to make some targets to practice on. Materials: Cardboard box Paint pens  Duct tape  Measure the targets, one big circle in the middle, four smaller circles around the middle target. Cut out the circles, measure about a 1/2" from the edge and cut the contour of the small circles. Measure 1" on the center circle and cut the contour. Draw a character on each target. We chose a creeper for the middle target and pigs for the smaller targets. Place the target in their perspective circles, measure twine to hang each target in place. Duct tape the twine to the target and the targets to the support. Tape all the shapes to their respective openings. Add point value for each shape.  It's  time for target practice! Happy crafting!

Pirate hat treasure box and gold coins Surprise your little pirates with these easy to make pirate accessories. Time: about 15 minutes Cost: under $5.00 Material: 2 pieces of felt Needle and thread Fabric paint Yellow foam sheet Empty baby wipes container (the plastic ones that come for free in the big boxes of wipes) Brown and yellow construction paper Tape Scissors Directions: Pirate hat: Place one piece of felt on top of the other. Cut out the shape of a pirate hat. Sew each end of the hat. Using the fabric paint draw stitch marks and a skull and cross bones in the middle Treasure box and treasure Measure the brown construction paper against the baby wipes container. Cut out pieces to cover all sides. Tape the paper to the container.  Using the yellow construction paper make decorations for the treasure box including a lock and hinges. Using the yellow foam sheet cut out circles for gold coins.
